Conclusion of Media Department's 'Second Winter Internship'
An exhibition was organized to mark the conclusion of the 'Second Winter Internship' for Media and Visual Communication students, hosted by the Department of Communication and Media Technology at J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology. The event was graced by Pramila Dixit, a prominent journalist from TV9 Bharatvarsh, and Hitesh Tayal, Senior Journalist from Network 18, as the chief guests.
The exhibition featured an impressive display of photography, newspaper layouts, video editing, and graphic design projects created by students during their internship. The guests lauded the students' technical proficiency and creative vision.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajiv Kumar extended his congratulations on the successful completion of the program. Guest of Honor Pramila Dixit shed light on the nuances of journalism and practical field challenges. She emphasized, "Journalism is not a game of glamour, but a game played on the ground. We must master our language. Remember, AI can never take the jobs of those who read and stay informed."
Sharing his experiences, Hitesh Tayal from Network 18 remarked, "This is not just a department; it is a complete media institution. Seeing the work and talent of these students, I am confident that the legendary journalists of the future will emerge from here."
Dean Prof. Anuradha Sharma congratulated the students on the successful
presentation of their projects. Chairperson CMT, Prof. Pawan Singh noted that
the internship was designed to be highly practical. Regular workshops were
conducted where experts introduced students to media intricacies. Additionally,
students were sent for fieldwork to gain real-world experience in reporting and
content creation.
