Mewat Visit Dispels Misconceptions, Awakens Spiritual Consciousness

Under the Winter Internship organized by the Department of Communication and Media Technology at J.C. Bose University, an educational trip to 'Mewat' was conducted. Guided by Department Head Prof. Pawan Singh, students of Media and Visual Communication visited historical and religious sites such as the Sohna Kund, the ancient Nalhar Temple in Nuh, and the Pandava-era Jhir Temple in Firozpur Jhirka.

The primary objectives of the trip were ground reporting, photography, videography, and reel-making. This journey not only introduced the students to their rich and glorious history but also helped dispel various misconceptions regarding the region.

In a joint address, social workers Vinod and Shyam Singh stated that a visit to Mewat clears all misleading notions and awakens spiritual consciousness. They emphasized that Sohna, Nuh, and Firozpur Jhirka are witnesses to the extraordinary cultural and historical heritage of the Brij region. "Education is not confined to books; practical experience makes knowledge complete. Media students should periodically visit such areas for ground reporting," they added.

Participating students shared that the trip provided a unique opportunity to closely understand the history linked to our culture and epics.

Furthermore, they felt inspired not just to understand this wonderful cultural heritage, but also to communicate it to others. During the journey, students observed the ancient temples and cultural landmarks of these areas. They believe this visit has worked toward changing the "wrong perceptions" prevalent in society about these places.

The student delegation was led by Communication Club President Tanishka Nanda, Dhiren Singh, and ‘Drishya’ President Palak Arora. The Mewat tour was successfully completed under the guidance of Assistant Professors Ravi Kumar and Ajay Yadav, along with Senior Instructor Dushyant Tyagi, Production Assistant Pankaj Saini, Anju Singh, and Vishal Berwal.
