The first day of two-day National Conference on “Media, Society and Public Discourse in the Digital Age” organized by the Department of Communication and Media Technology, J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, concluded with a Cultural Evening.

The evening began with a soulful Ganesh Vandana dance performance by media student Eklavya Malik. The programme was graced by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajive Kumar and Registrar Prof. Ajay Ranga. Chairperson of the Department Prof. Pawan Singh extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and guests. The cultural programme left the audience spellbound with three outstanding performances.

The Niramayam Club presented a mesmerizing Musical Yoga performance showcasing perfect balance, grace and harmony that left everyone awestruck. This was followed by a high-energy Haryanvi folk dance by the Natraj Club on the popular song “Mat Chhed Balam Mere Chundad Nai…” which brought the house down with its lively steps and traditional flavour.

The highlight of the evening was the Kavi Sammelan featuring renowned poets Vinay Tripathi, young poet Rajpal, and Abhipray Tripathi ‘Neerav’. The poetry session was a delightful mix of Veer Ras (valour), Prem Ras (romance), Hasya (humour) and Vyangya (satire) that created a completely stress-free and joyful atmosphere.

Poet Vineet Pandey kept the audience in splits with his humorous take on daily life, married couples and the aspirations of today’s youth. Young poet Abhipray Tripathi ‘Neerav’ inspired the Gen-Z audience with his motivational verses: “Himmat na haariye… Himmat na haariye, mehnat sanwariye; Bechainiyan bahut hain… Bechainiyan bahut hain, man ko buhariye.”
Poet Rajpal mesmerized everyone with powerful patriotic poetry in Veer Ras and soulful romantic shayaris. His famous lines “Toot kar chaahne wala dobara nahin milta” received thunderous applause from the students.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajive Kumar and Registrar Prof. Ajay Ranga honoured all the poets with mementos and shawls. The Cultural Evening successfully blended tradition, creativity and youth energy, providing a perfect end to the first day of the conference.
